Bells Farm Western Rides run by Andrew & Rachel Brown is based in the small Hamlet of Stockley on the edge of the Marlborough downs, an area of outstanding natural beauty.

On the farm we produce Aberdeen Angus beef cattle, grazing them on large areas of the downs around Calstone and Cherhill.

To improve the movement of the cattle around the grazing, Andrew purchased the first Criollo and started herding the cattle on horseback. This proved a great success with the horse being more manouverable and better suited to the difficult terrain than a quad bike or Land Rover. Soon a second Criollo was purchased that enabled Rachel and the rest of the family to help out.

Rachel has worked with horses for many years and is a qualified BHS assistant instructor. She now runs a livery business at the farm as well as leading the rides out on a daily basis.

Now, after a couple of years, we have eight Criollos that we use for rides which are suitable for various abilities. The horses are all fitted with western saddles and are "neck reined" that makes them ideal for beginners.

We are licensed with Wiltshire County Council which means we are inspected and our horses are vetted annually.

We believe we have some of the best downland riding in England and our "Criollos" offer an amazing riding experience-we think you'll agree.
